Porsches answer to the MX5

I saw a 984 prototype for the first time last week and couldn't help wondering how it would have stacked up against the MX5 especially as it would have been on sale 3 or 4 years before the MX5 came out.

I suspect it would have been in a different price bracket and would have been a BMW Z1 alternative. Can't help feeling it looked a lot like the Scimitar SS1 of the same era.

The 968'esque interior would have been a nicer place to be compared to the alternatives.
