Number plate light warning

I have the dreaded number plate light warning come up on my dash,

I have tried 3 different ways to fix it

New normal bulbs two different makes
new led bulbs with built in resister
new led complete holders with built in restors

and still no joy

Now if I clear the code with my scanner it comes back immediately

If I clear the code with the lights on, start and stop the car many times the warning stays off, Until I turn the lights and then it comes strait back.

Any help please

Paul

If the lights are working, then there's too much resistance on the wire.

Are the connectors clean as a whistle? You need to lower that resistance.
If the connectors are good, then wiring might need replacing.

A fresh earth connection to somewhere on the chassis might help.

What voltage are you getting to the bulb connectors?

Hi Thanks for the help, I will check the voltage today, If I clear the fault with the scanner, it only comes back on when I switch the lights off.

I have read a few posts that say the Resistance is to high and fit a 50ohm resistor. So I am now confused what is going on.

Normal bulbs and LED's same problem

Thanks

Paul

I get this message intermittently since changing to LED bulbs, but message just flashes up and then disappears so no real drama.
