My key fob stopped working and the spare through not being used in some time also failed to open the car
Having tried all the reset procedures etc. I was left with the option of a new key from the dealers.

However I tried "remoterepaircentre" on Ebay who claimed to completely service the key fob. They replace the buttons, battery and check all the functions work correctly for £25

My key came back and worked perfectly first time, I also had my spare key done which also now works perfectly.
This service might not fix every ones problems but its certainly a cheap enough option before ordering a pricey new key

My GF got her BMW Mini key repaired with them - thumbs up from me.

I'm about to put £500 worth of key fobs on a 996 at work .. one of which is an unused spare .. brand new .. total waste of money .. spares should be rotated every 3 months at least .

I'm all for people using companies like this .. for a garage though its not tenable to have a car sitting around for a week but .. hell it's a no brainer to at least send off one key and try this service .. :thumb:

I have one perfectly functioning key and 996 key that doesn't seem to sync with the car. LED lights up but doesn't seem to talk to the central locking?

I've tried ALL the online fixes even blindfolding oneself whilst hopping up and down on one leg dressed in a superhero costume whilst turning the key left right etc etc :D

I was advised it can be looked at and fixed but may need to be reprogrammed which can only be done by an OPC or independent specialist with access to PIWIS ?

It was the garage who did my girlfriend's key. 3 days from posting to recieving it back.
