Just fitted some pioneer 4" Speakers to my car. £20 a pair, they sound a bit punchier on the bass and there's definitely more clarity than the original speakers.
Very easy to fit, just cut the existing speaker apart with the Dremel to make a mounting ring. Mount this back on the Porsche grille, align the new speaker on the back of this, a few pilot holes and self tapping screws later and it's on. Make sure the tabs on the; new speakers are cut close enough to match the profile of the existing mounting ring, or they won't fit back into the car.
Coupled with some VW speaker adapter leads it all came in at under £45.
