Hi - guys, I am looking for some help and advice.

In short, I am wanting to buy some Fuchs style alloys from my 996.

I currently have the standard 5 spoke carrera allows 18s, which I think have a 50ET front and 65 ET rear, 225/40 R18 Y front tyres and 285/30 R18 Y rears.

My car is also lowered on 30mm springs.

The front looks good (perhaps could come out a little) and the rear is ok, but would perhaps like them to come out a bit more ideally.

Current options I have are:

1) Design 911 fuchs style FRONT 8.0J ET50 REAR 10.0J ET65 (assume I a direct replacement for what i have and can use existing tyres?)

2) Design 911 fuchs style FRONT 8.0J ET50 REAR 10.0J ET40 (assume I would need new rear tyres for these but would possibly give me the fill out in the rears im looking for?)

3) Kerscher 18" 8.5J 48ET and 10J 45ET (fronts would even out to the same as what I have, the rears would need new tyres but perhaps a better fill in the rear?)

4) Used from Holland - Front 8J 52ET with 225/40/zr18 and REAR 9.5j 47ET with 255/35/zr18 tyres

I'm not so techincal with these wheel sizing, but looking for advice on what will work, what will fit and what will give me the look I'm trying to achieve (front is ok, rear would like filling out a bit). What option would be best? 1 2 3 or 4?

Many thanks

So Ive probably had all variations that you list on my car. It all comes down to what your preference is with how it looks. All of those listed will fit fine, only one to watch would be the 10in et40 with 285 tyres.

All those rear widths with accommodate your current tyres as will the fronts so you shouldnt need new tyres to fit the wheels. As said the only of of concern would be the et40- rear with your current tyres as et40 will have he wheel flush with the arch. Ive always run 265/35/18 rear.

If you dont want to run spacers then the Kerscher ones will be the best overall for looks IMO. They are a well made wheels as well.

Thanks chap - i've just done a comparison using a calculator online, and I think you are right that the Kerscher ones will be best overal. 8.3mm wider on the front and 20mm wider on the rear. Might actually be the perfect fit overal.

Now just need to understand why its WAY more cheaper to buy from their ebay page than the actual sales page??

I bought through thier ebay.de page but that was before brexit. Ebay page is actually a different company isnt it? Tunershop.

Ive found a set of these but in 2 piece split rim style that Im very tempted by.

Genuine Fuchs are forged so probably lighter but I didnt find these heavy. Note you dont get centre caps and normal Porsche ones dont fit so you need Fuchs specific caps.

Ive asked the question - both called Tunershop. I've previously spoken to their ebay page guys.. no delviery costs, no import etc. price you see is the price you pay.

yeah .. centre caps are the issue perhaps - do you know if the D911 ones fit them? Any other sellers?

Braid

Spanish motorsport manufacturer Braid make not only to-order wheels but also replica Fuchs, these are specialists so well worth a look.

Throttle cable put Braids on a 996, this has a very good description and list of offsets at the end: -

BZ classic I think are the Fuchs design, can be seen here: -

Hope it helps
