For sale is my 996 40 Jahre. Of the three 996s I have owned, this is my favourite – to put that into context, the competition was a no sunroof c2 and a turbo (both manual).

In 2015, when the previous owner aquired the car (only 6000 miles ago!) he spent £5k on a major service, to include RMS, clutch, flywheel, front and rear pads and discs and a number of other bits and pieces. Having owned a c2 needing a new clutch, I can tell that this does not need a new clutch - the gear change is as you would expect from a 6000 mile old clutch.
RMS was done again in 2019 at circa 62500 miles.
Air con condensers and pipe were replaced prior to me collecting the car in 2022.
In my ownership, I replaced the Dansk backboxes with Spyder Performance valvetronic backboxes after watching a video on Youtube (SOUND UP! Ultimate Porsche 996 aftermarket exhaust group test comparison!) and concluding it produced the sound I liked the most. I have also fitted “Alex’s SSK kit”. The Dansk backboxes and original gear linkage are available if required.
The car will revert to its original plate, P16 LCA. You can see it on the landing page of https://www.40jahre911.com/ with its proud owner before me.
It has an MOT until 31st March 2025. The MOT history is a thing of wonder, and reflects how well I believe this car has been looked after since it was first tested in 2007. It has had no fails, and 3 advisories - in each case for aged tyres only. The most recent advisory has not been addressed. The tread on all tyres is good, there are some slight cracks on the rear tyres as noted.
Recent Maintenance:
- Major Service (October 2023), A/C condenser o-rings, coolant hose, exhaust hanger (work done following service, but delay due to labour shortage at Nine E - March 2024), sunroof seal and battery replaced (June 2023) (all @ Nine Excellence)
- Prior to that a comprehensive inspection and service was caried out at Revolution Porsche in Leeds prior to my ownership
The original service book was stolen in a burglary at the house of the previous owner – West Yorkshire Police card included in service history! A replacement service book was issued. This means that there are receipts and invoices and a stamped service book from 2015 (when the previous owner acquired the car) onwards - evidencing the £10k plus you would expect to be spent on a 911. Do not be put off by this, I wasn’t and it paid off. I viewed 3 (bear in mind there are not that many for sale at any given time) and this just felt immediately "right” and was easily in the best cosmetic condition. Any inspection is welcome and encouraged, there is absolutely nothing to hide whatsoever (unless Revolution and Nine E have both dropped the ball which I consider highly unlikely!)
This car has a few age related stone chips, the front bumper chin spoiler has looked better but other than that the car looks, sounds and drives absolutely fantastically.
