993 Wing mirror LEDs

I want to delete the side indicators/repeaters and my trusty MOT shop says that's a fail. They suggested replacing them with wing mirror LEDs like many modern cars have - has anyone done this?
 
Sure, speak to Tyrone, of Riviera Autobody, he's done a few of these...

I agree... no one told me these existed when I was doing my ugly-delete/respray a couple of years ago!
 
Why would you want to do this? It's a 90s car and the carbuncle of a side repeater is part of its character.
