911-50 was superb. Why is 911-60 such a damp squib?

As one who thoroughly enjoyed the 911-50 celebrations in 2013 it's very disappointing that so little has been announced for this years 911-60.

10 years ago there was a continuous set of events including a special exhibition at The Museum and loads of meetings in the UK. All the Porsche and prestige car magazines were running 911-50 features and posters / stickers etc were produced. So far this year I'm not aware of anything.

This year there seems to be little or no plans. Even the customary celebratory model seems to be little more than a whispered (a 500 hp 4 litre Carrera T) semi-secret rather than one for us to look forward to.

As this year is also 'Porsche 75' the lack of fanfare is doubly disappointing.

Yes, it's been a little muted to date on the 60/75 anniversaries.
Hopefully things will pick up a bit as the spring and summer months roll on. 😀

Went to 75 year celebrations yesterday at Cultra Manor just outside Belfast.
Belfast OPC was sponsoring the Cultra Hill Climb event which dates back to 1905 and combining it with the 75th anniversary.
Over 100 cars of all shapes and pedigrees competing in the hill climb, including various Porsches.
A great display from Belfast OPC, fantastic venue, superb hill climbing, and a gloriously sunny day.
A great way to celebrate 75 years. 8) :thumb:

Porsche 75 celebrations seemed to have been ramped up a lot lately.

Perhaps 911-60 will become a bigger thing later in the year. :dont know:

one hopes they will do something :?: or it will just be another design edition
