I've owned this wonderful example of a wide-bodied 996 4S for the last 2.5 years and have literally babied it during this time. It spends most of it's life in my garage on a trickle-charger and really only gets used on sunny weekends. I find myself using it less and less (due to a growing family that won't all fit in it anymore!) and really can't justify keeping it any longer.
It has extensive service history, nearly all of which has been carried out at a Porsche main dealer:
7342 miles, Porsche West London
14299 miles, Porsche West London
26980 miles, Porsche West London
31391 miles, Porsche West London
37644 miles, Porsche West London
41421 miles, Porsche West London
48680 miles, Porsche West London
55600 miles, Porsche West London
63482 miles, Porsche West London
70279 miles, Porsche West London
78911 miles, SPA Motor Company (Porsche Specialist, inc. spark plugs and brake pipes renewal)
Items done in my ownership since the last service:
2 x engine oil & filter changes
Gearbox oil change
New Porsche rear left & right engine mounts
Front and rear suspension control arms replaced for new Meyle HD items
New (OEM) Bosch MAF sensor
Fitted Jacquemond 996 GT3 Spoiler (very expensive, excellent quality)
Fitted 996 Aero front splitter
Refurbished wheels in Anthracite (unmarked) with Michelin (rear) and Pirelli (front) tyres
Retrimmed steering wheel in Alcantara with matching stitching (Royal Steering Wheels, Aylesbury)
Retrimmed armrest, gear knob and gaitor and door trim in Alcantara (Bespoke Leathering, Birmingham)
It had new discs & pads all around shortly before I bought it. During my 2.5 year ownership, I have covered around 5,000 miles with 800 of those being in the last year.
Bodywork: 8.5/10 - Probably a bit harsh but I am very fussy when it comes to bodywork. Generally very good condition all around and in-line with a well cared for 15 year old car. Has been professionally detailed twice in the past 2 years (at Refined Details, Wendover), the most recent of which was around a month ago. Some stone chips on the bonnet along with a very light scratch on the NSR quarter. The car is very presentable and certainly turns heads everywhere it goes, and sometimes attracts the odd comment on how tidy the car is! The Jacquemond GT3 spoiler really makes the car stand out from others (the original pop-up spoiler will be included in the sale).
Engine/gearbox: 10/10. Drives spot on, no odd noises or behaviour. Power delivery is smooth and progressive, and extremely fun and rewarding to drive. Exhaust is in very good condition with little to no rust or corrosion present on the mufflers.
Interior: 9/10. "Savannah" - generally very good condition. The retrimmed Alcantara parts really makes the car stand out and feel special. The steering wheel has a completely different RS-like feel, having been retrimmed in Alcantara and thickened slightly - far more sporty and how it should've been out of the factory. The colour of the stitching on the wheel, gear knob gaitor, handbrake and armrest has been chosen match the the rest of the car and looks stunning. It's amazing how these little details make such a huge difference, and the car feels a much more special place to be in with the Alcantara trim. Front seats are electric but not heated. Climate control works and blows ice cold.
Suspension/brakes: 9/10. Excellent condition, with recent front/rear control arm renewal. No odd noises. Recent 4-wheel alignment at "Wheels in Motion" (a.k.a. Blackboots in Chesham).
The car comes with 1 key. I was always intending on getting another from Porsche Reading (at a cost of around £200), but never got round to doing so due to lack of use and finding time to visit the dealer.
I will allow test-drives at my discretion. No time wasters and not interested in any part exchanges. Preferred payment method is instant bank transfer or a trip to the bank - money must clear before the car will be released. The car is located near High Wycombe, South Bucks and can be viewed in Gerrards Cross if need be. Any inspection welcome. Call on 01494 641295 if you'd like to discuss a viewing - calls will be automatically forwarded on to my mobile.
