Very reluctant sale of my 2002 Porsche 996 C4S Coupe which is making way for a more ‘family friendly’ vehicle. It is in excellent condition and has clearly been very well cared for over the years. I shall be sorry to see it go.

I purchased the car in Aug 2015 from Cameron Sports Cars where I had it independently inspected by Peter Morgan prior to purchase. This was probably a bit ‘belt and braces’ given Cameron’s reputation for supplying quality used Porsches but I wanted that extra peace of mind. Peter provided a comprehensive report and confirmed the car to be a good one. The car has had 10 previous keepers which may put some prospective buyers off however the overall condition and service history far exceeded other low owner/mileage cars I viewed during my search. The history file evidences that the car has been sold previously by OPC Mid Sussex and 911Virgin which to me is a positive sign that it has been subject to thorough pre-sale preparation in the past.
Under my ownership it has led a pampered life. Stored in the garage and enjoyed as a weekend driver, treated sympathetically and always warmed up before any spirited drives. It has Continental N-rated tyres all round with 4/5mm tread remaining. I am informed it has a low temperature thermostat fitted and when fully warm the water temperature sits at 80 degrees. There is no evidence of sooting to the left tailpipe (confirmed also in the Peter Morgan report). There are lots of invoices in the history file all sorted chronologically in a presentation binder. Overall the car drives like a good 911 should and is in excellent condition inside and out with some very minor age-related marks commensurate with the age of the car. There is some lacquer peel to the brake calipers and a minor scuff to the rear bumper.
Maintenance completed under my ownership:
Major service including spark plugs and polyrib drive belt (Cameron).
Replace fuel cap
Replace coolant flange gasket
Replace DI coil heat shields
Replace exhaust fixings
Replace nearside bank chain tensioner oil seal
Welding repair to exhaust box seams
New Continental N-rated front tyres
Minor service (OPC Tonbridge)
Brake fluid change (OPC Tonbridge)
Repair to a/c pipe and re-gas system
Replace front coffin arms
Full geometry/alignment check and adjust
